Artist's Comments

One of my favorite images, the set up was fairly simple...
Step 1: Acquire someone with many desks/wooden pallets/cabinets who has decide to set them on fire in a parking lot.
Step 2: Acquire a dancer who is attracted to giant pillars of flame.
Step 3: Shoot.

I've always liked this photo, its sort of spiritual in the desire to just be overcome with your surroundings. I love that.. seems so simple.

At twilight, nature is not without loveliness, though perhaps its chief use is to illustrate quotations from the poets.

Omg yes, who doesn't love giant pillars of flames?!?!?

actually, ill tell you, smokey the bear (that might only make sense in the US) but hes the forest fire prevention bear. and he says "only you can prevent giant pillars of flamedeath" or...something like that. *nods* and marshmellows are definitely ftw.

Im glad you like it, the shot was so much fun to take, and the dancer literally was nuts. She saw the flames from a long ways away and drove to them just so she could dance around it. lol I wont judge, hell, id probably do the same thing lol.

That's awesome. :D

That's the kind of person you want around when crazy stuff happens.

Haha, I bet 90% of the time us nutjobs are starting the crazy stuff :)

This photo is great. I like the fact that silhouette disrupts the steady rise of flames for the viewer. Not to mention that rather nutty pose depicted. Very sharp and the colours' contrast perfectly. The photo could be more centered though. I don't suggest cropping, it makes the photo sad :(. A re-shoot would be next option, this time marshmallows are a must for participation. :D
